During last week’s parliamentary meeting, the UK government voted with an overwhelming majority in favor of the proposed tax regime that places bingo clubs under a 22% tax net. These MPs went against their promises of casting a vote in Parliament against the tax hike and actually  voted in favor of the legislation.

Several MPs, like Dhanda Parmjit who had introduced the Early Day Motion on the floor of the house to begin with, had to vote in favor of the tax hike due to legislative compulsions. A couple of Labor Party members, like Eric Ilsley and Dary Taylor did vote against the hike, but the motion went through. The motion to revoke the proposed tax regime was defeated 283 to 83.
