Paul Kusznirewicz, filed a lawsuit against Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation for CAD $42.9 million and an additional 3 million in damages, after a faulty slot machine signaled him a jackpot of $42.9 million. At the casino the payout was to Mr Paul by the casino authorities, who offered him a dinner for four at the casino hotel instead. That’s one casino’s bingo promos I’ll never be interested in!

The faulty slot machine has now been removed by the authorities, however the court proceedings continue. The casino management refuses to accept that Mr Paul may have won, instead they are claiming the slot machine was working improperly and hence it gave out a random result. The company has also said that all Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation slot machines have a disclaimer stating ‘malfunctions void all pays and plays’. Mr Paul was playing on the abovementioned casino’s Old Buccaneer themed slot machine and was offered free food instead of his jackpot. Mr Paul however is determined to make his $42.9 million even though the maximum jackpot on the  slot machine is not more than $9000. The malfunctioning slot machine game has now been removed from the casino premises by the casino owners, as per the regulatory laws of the Alcohol and Gaming Association of Ontario.
