JackpotCity Bingo Moves to Microgaming

November 6th, 2009

JackpotCity Bingo has changed platforms and also announced a new bingo promotion to promote the new bingo games. Unlike other bingo sites that have made the move to Virtue Fusion this year, JackpotCity Bingo has decided to move away from the developer. In a contract that was signed recently, the online bingo biggie has changed from Virtue Fusion to Microgaming. Both developers are popular among bingo players, and the move would make little or no difference to JackpotCity Bingo’s standing in the current market. The bingo site feels the need to celebrate though, and therefore has announced a Winter Festival of bingo promotions and bonuses for all of its players.

JackpotCity Bingo has announced a new welcome bingo bonus, one where players aren’t required to make a deposit and get free bingo money to play with. This bingo bonus is only applicable to new bingo players signing up with JackpotCity Bingo, and players get £25 pounds free bingo money to play. For existing bingo players, the bingo site has released a generous 200% first deposit bonus. The bingo bonus offer is also said to include the redeposit bonuses of up to 25%. The specially created bingo promotion for the Winter Festival. The uniquely created bingo promotion is in parts, first of which allows the winner of a full house during specific bingo games to nominate a friend to get the free bingo bonus. JackpotCity Bingo has also rung in the Christmas season with the second part of their promotion.

JackpotCity Bingo is hosting a one off special Christmas game which gives players the chance to win £350 pounds worth of shopping vouchers. The key to entering this prized game is wagering a minimum of £10 pounds to collect special bingo tickets. These special bingo tickets can then be used during the big Christmas game and the winner gets £350 pounds worth of shopping vouchers of his or her choice. JackpotCity Bingo will be giving away BBs to the runners-up of the bingo game. The bingo promotion has already begun at JackpotCity Bingo.

Tombola Bingo Presents Emmerdale

October 13th, 2009

Tombola Bingo has made a massive comeback following their previous advertising campaign. Having come through as wiser after the heat from ASA on their advertisements the last time around, their latest campaigns are careful not to cater to children. But for all the wisdom in the world, the new advertising campaign lacks the punch that is signature to Tombola Bingo. The fresh batch of advertisements look like badly made informercials, and there isn’t really a WOW factor about their ads. Despite my opinion on these ads however, the brand, Tombola Bingo seems to be getting very popular. And now for the confirmation of the title of this piece -  Yes, Tombola Bingo is most definitely going to sponsor Emmerdale.

Online Bingo is getting a lot of TV airtime these days and we are definitely looking forward to how this latest development is going to work out. We already know that Wink Bingo is bringing Harry Hill’s TV Burp back. You should definitely check out the new adverts for this online bingo giant. There are cute little kittens playing all over the screen. As for Tombola, we’ve seen their getaway bingo jackpot island, and it looks great, but more of an advert for a travel agency.

Tombola Bingo has some great new additions to their site, which are definitely worth a look. First off, this online bingo site has created a new application called the Binglish Translator, which is very clever. As a new bingo player, I remember being surrounded by 1TGs and GLs and such extensions of the cryptic bingo language. The new translator app gives you the lowdown on any bingo word you are looking to find the meaning to. It works beautifully, simply type in the word that you are looking to decipher and the translator will have the English meaning back to you in no time! Now that I have explained that, I shall return to my dose of Emmerdale.

Free Bingo Travels to Blackpool

October 12th, 2009

Free Bingo UK has decided to plan a bingo players’ day out, packed with loads of bingo fun and other activities. All bingo players from the site are aware that this site is completely free to try, and there tons of free bingo rooms to choose from. The online bingo site decided to take their game one step further and give their players a chance to meet in person. The last time they tried it at the Alton Towers, it was a hit, so they thought why not do it again? The whole purpose of a bingo game is to give folks a chance to socialise while engaging in a fun and rewarding activity.

With online bingo sites springing up faster than ever before, there is a greater need to keep that socialising element of bingo alive. Also with offline bingo halls closing down, bingo players need more than just free bingo online. While some sites have taken the online social networking approach, Free Bingo UK, is all about making the experience real. So what are the lucky bingo players going to do on their day out? Tons of stuff lined up apparently, including some crazy rides.

Free Bingo UK has organised the trip to Blackpool, and participants from all over the UK have signed up for the fun package. There is the crazy fairground ride from Pepsi Max – The Big One for the adventurous bingo players, and for the not-so-spontaneous ones there will be the bingo games to play. The unique bingo games catching up these days are the ones replacing all the numbers on your cards for either celebrity names or songs or movie names etc. The Free Bingo lucky bingo players will be playing the karaoke version of bingo, wherein songs will be picked at random and played for the players, and if they have all the songs on their cards, it is a full house! Sounds like a great place to be hanging out at. Look up Free Bingo for more of such fun and exciting activities.

October 12th, 2009

Posh Bingo has announced its event for the Halloween evening and bingo fans all over the UK have a reason to smile, as you are invited to a Masquerade party. Posh Bingo always thinks of posh ways to celebrate events, whether there are cruises or tea parties or a snazzy masquerade party instead of a ghoulish Halloween party. Gone are the days when Halloween was about the tacky slasher costumes, and blood and gore, with Posh Bingo you can actually do something more grown up for a change. This mysterious party will bring out the most wicked side in you. The question is, do you have your attire ready?

Posh Bingo will need a head count, so make sure you send in your event confirmation via email to them before next Tuesday, the 20th of October. There will be bingo games, enticing prizes, chats that’ll send your head spinning and chat hosts that you’d think belong on Ripley’s Believe It or Not (as hosts, of course!). This spine tingling and mystery laden event will take place on the 31st of October and everyone is invited to the party. Bring your friends, wear your masks and lose yourself in the indulgent mysteries of this evening.

Posh Bingo opens its gates at 8pm and the last bell rings at 11pm. Get there on foot, or take a limo ride on the Posh Bingo limo game. Walking you through this party will be the Poshest chat moderators, Lady K and Queen B. Win tons of great prizes and live out your wicked dreams just for the one night. For those of you who missed out on sending that email confirmation, don’t lose heart, for there will be plenty of other Halloween themed games doing the rounds on Posh  Bingo, all you need to do is find them.

Gala Bingo Reaches For New Heights

October 12th, 2009

Gala Bingo is probably the most talked about online bingo site, not only because of its mega massive online bingo player community, but also because of its strong presence among the land-based bingo halls. Bingo fans from Gala Bingo are currently preparing for a journey that the world is going to remember for a long time to come! Playing bingo is one thing, but combining it with an adventure sport is going to increase the stakes of this social game. Training for, what is said to be, the World’s Highest Game of Bingo are 24 employees from Gala Bingo. This lucky bunch is going to be playing atop the Mount Everest to set a new world record.

Gala Bingo’s supporters are excited about this new adventure and any true bingo fan will be right there rooting for these brave ones as they make their way through horrible weather, physical stress and high altitudes, all for the love of bingo! You didn’t think they were going to play bingo at Mount Everest just for some jackpot, did you? Well, true to its nature, this online bingo site is raising funds and awareness for the Sue Ryder charity as part of this bingo trek. Gala Bingo is hoping to raise the million that they are targetting for before the end of the year.

The stakes are high and there is definitely anxiety in the air, and anyone who has ever managed to climb all the way to the top of the Everest, will tell you it is not ordinary task. The mental and physical stamina required is beyond average, and the players not only have the mammoth task of getting to the top, but also then indulging in a real game of bingo. The clarity of mind required for the same is going to be a challenge in itself. We support this brave gesture and hope that bingo can finally make its mark where only a few men have gone before!

UK Bingo Halls On A Downturn

October 7th, 2009

UK bingo halls have been popular for decades now, and many celebrities started off their careers at these land-based bingo halls. The current trend however is showing a shift in the manner of bingo players. With bingo becoming accessible at the touch of a button and in the comfort of your own bedroom, the legacy of offline bingo halls is burning out. For most, since the explosion of online bingo sites, which by the way sit at a figure of 250+ at the moment, the whole experience of bingo playing has had a face lift. While the UK still lags in the transfer of avid bingo players from offline bingo halls to online in comparison to the US, this trend is definitely showing a shift.

Bingo players in the UK are slowly and steadily opting for the online bingo sites. When one can play comfortably from home without having to even change out of their pjs, why swap that for a game at the local bingo hall? The concept of bingo rests on the socialising aspect, and more players are now associated with social networking sites, making it even more impossible to lure bingo players out of online bingo. While three years ago, UK had 650 land based bingo halls, this number has dwindled to a 550. Will there be a day when we won’t have a local bingo hall?

For bingo players across the UK, the bingo halls have already cut down hours and in certain cases, shut down completely. We love online bingo, but offline bingo has a traditional way about it that makes it endearing. For me in particular, this is a catch22 situation, wherein I do want to play online bingo, but don’t want the offline bingo halls to shut down completely. Oh dear, oh dear! Things may take a turn for the better and we might see these bingo halls and many new ones come back into action in the next couple of years, but we’ll have to wait and watch for that.

Bingo Day Bonus

October 6th, 2009

Generally, when players look for a bingo site at which to play, one of the first things they check for is the type of welcome bonus on offer.  Common questions include:  ‘Are there any ‘catches’? Is the bonus that is being offered a generous one? Will I be able to withdraw my winnings easily?

Bingo Day offers one of the top sign-up bonuses in the industry, doubling all new players’ first deposits up to £100.  This is a bonus that is hard to beat – up to 200% FREE!  For example, if you deposit £20, Bingo Day will add an extra £40. This leaves you with an instant £60 in playing cash.  Even better is how Bingo Day rewards loyal players with an extra 25% on every deposit that is made after the first deposit.

All bonuses received by players can be used to play bingo – but the coolest part is that all prizes and jackpots are paid in pure cash.  There are a few rules that players must abide by in order to receive their bonuses.  Firstly, players are obligated to wager their deposits 10 times more than the number of tickets they buy.  Secondly, if a player wants to make a withdrawal, be eligible to win jackpots, or play chat games/special tournaments/promotions – they must be a depositor.

Along with the generous sign-up bonus and the additional 25% with every deposit, Bingo Day also offers Chat Room bonuses, bonuses for referring other players to Bingo Day, and a birthday bonus. With so many promotional offers to enjoy, Bingo Day ensures that their players are kept happy and coming back for more bingo action.

New Online Bingo Adverts

October 5th, 2009

Online bingo has expanded so quickly over the past couple of years and now they are vying for your attention on the tv screens. There have been so many major online bingo brands that have been dishing out some quality fun sized entertainment, just for you lot. For beginners, there is the adorable Wink Bingo advert with the dog and owner engaging in some synchronised dancing, to celebrate a victory on Wink Bingo. In my opinion, the celebrations begin as soon as you get to this online bingo site. Before you can even say hello, you say WOW, £15 no deposit welcome bonus!

Wink Bingo has had this offer on the table for months now and everyone who has tried it has stayed around for more, because the games are always fresh and the online bingo community is one of the best I’ve seen around. But mind you if you thought the cute dog and his master was a laugh, the new Gala Bingo ads aren’t a far cry away. There has been money flying around everywhere and bingo players have been running after, and why wouldn’t they? Gala Bingo’s latest online offer gives you free bingo money to try out the online bingo site.

Online bingo’s sizzling offers are putting to shame many of the other bingo promotions such as holidays and monthly jackpots. With all the focus on what the best welcome deals are, it looks like it’ll be a while before, playing mega jackpots comes back into fashion. Now is the time for free bingo games and penny bingo games, and if you keep a close eye on it, you’ll see that all the big guns have started releasing limited period only welcome bonus offers. Foxy Bingo has put down an offer you can’t resist, but it’ll last for only a while, so check out all these ads and the amazing welcome bonuses that they are promoting!

Gala bingo team to play high altitude bingo games for charity

September 29th, 2009

The quest to break the record for the world’s highest game of bingo is on. A 24-strong team of Gala  employees from across Britain is setting out to complete the challenging task of trekking 75 miles and ascending 2,700 metres up the world’s highest mountain, Mount Everest. This adventurous act will help raise £100k for Gala Coral’s group-wide charity Sue Ryder Care.

Joining the team of trekkers is 42-year-old Mark Simm from Wigan – a bingo fanatic. Mark and his team will start their trek in Lukla on October 19 and should hopefully reach the Mount Everest base camp on October 24 and settle down to play the high-altitude bingo games. Mark and his team have been in training for this event playing bingo at a height of 400ft on top of St John’s Beacon Observation Tower, in Liverpool. They are shaping up by running long distance running and climbing hills. Says Mark : “It seems a bit daft, but if we’re going to do this challenge properly we need to be prepared so, apart from the high altitude bingo practice, I’ve also been playing double-speed bingo games to keep my mental faculties sharp because at 17,500ft, your thinking really slows down. This trek is a once-in-a- lifetime challenge for me and what keeps me going is the thought of standing on Base Camp, dabber in my hand, knowing that I’ll be raising vital funds for Sue Ryder Care. I hope we can do them proud.”

Simon Longbottom, managing director of Gala Bingo, said: “I am incredibly proud of Mark and the team who have volunteered for this challenge. I’m even prouder that we’ll be raising money for the excellent work of our nominated charity, Sue Ryder Care.” To support Gala Bingo’s fundraising efforts, play the bingo game dedicated to the cause. Visit Gala Bingo now and do your bit for a good cause.

Virgin Bingo’s new TV advert

September 25th, 2009

Virgin Bingo will be hitting the small screen for the very first time on 5th October with their first ever TV advertisement. A cheerful bearded Jalapeno crooner in the name of Ricardo, dressed in customary Mexican garb complete with a sombrero will be the star of the Virgin Bingo TV advertising campaign. The animated campaign will focus on Virgin Bingo’s offer of three hours of free online bingo games, every single day for three weeks in the month of October. Earlier Virgin Bingo has advertised about their online casino but this is their maiden venture into advertising about their online bingo products. The new advert can be viewed on main terrestrial TV channels as well as on the free channels. It will definitely be hard to miss it!

Virgin Bingo has been making news with its recent move to the Virtue Fusion network. Players can now access all of Virgin Games’ products (bingo, casino, poker) with a single account. Virgin Games currently includes Virgin Casino, Virgin Bingo and Virgin Poker. The most exciting thing about Virgin Bingo is that if you don’t see a game on their site that you would like to play then they want you to shout and send them an email about it and they promise to do something about your request!  Also, every time you play Virgin Bingo offers you V*POINTS that you can collect and them swap for loads of Virgin goodies.

Watch out for the new Virgin Bingo TV adverts and take advantage of the free bingo offer. The Mexican theme will not only be restricted to Virgin’s TV adverts but also extend to their online bingo site. So keep visiting Virgin Bingo and watch out for some exclusive Mexican treats at your favourite online bingo site Virgin Bingo.
